Bangladesh’s agricultural exports increased significantly from July to November

According to the report of Bangladesh’s daily sun on December 19, during the period from July to November of this fiscal year, Bangladesh’s export of agricultural products reached US $55646 million, an increase of 24.37% compared with the same period of the previous fiscal year. According to the latest statistics of Bangladesh Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), the export volume of agricultural products from July to November of the previous fiscal year was US $447.42 million. In the previous fiscal year, the export volume of Bangladesh’s agricultural products exceeded the milestone of US $1 billion for the first time, and the goal set by the Bangladesh government is to export US $1109.2 million of agricultural products in this fiscal year.

According to the statistics of EPB, Bangladesh’s key export commodities include vegetables, tea, flowers, fruits, various spices, tobacco and processed food. Bangladesh has made significant progress in the export of processed foods, including biscuits, cakes, peas and nuts. Bangladesh agricultural products processing chamber of Commerce said that processed food accounted for the vast majority of the $1 billion export of agricultural products in the previous fiscal year. From July to November of this fiscal year, local enterprises in Bangladesh earned US $88.6 million from the export of processed food. The main export destinations of Bangladesh’s agricultural products are the European Union, the Middle East and the Gulf region. Bangladesh’s processed food has been exported to about 145 countries in the world.
