Egypt’s agricultural exports to grow by 14% in 2022

PyramidOnline.com, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) — Egypt’s agricultural exports reached nearly 6.5 million tons for the first time in 2022, totaling $3.3 billion, said Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Kusel. A report by Egypt’s Central Agency for Plant Quarantine (CAPQ) showed that agricultural exports increased by 14 percent in 2022 compared to 2021, from about 5.64 million tons to 6.43 million tons. Egypt exported 406 agricultural products to 160 markets worldwide, with the top ranked products being citrus, potatoes, fresh onions, grapes, fresh tomatoes, sweet potatoes, strawberries, guavas, garlic, mangoes, watermelons and pomegranates.
