In 2020, the income of rice farmers in the Philippines will drop to the lowest in five years

According to the Philippine Star on November 1, the Philippine Statistics Agency (PSA) data show that the income of Philippine rice farmers decreased slightly in 2020, mainly due to the slight increase of rice production cost and the continuous decline of farm prices. In this year, the average cost of rice planting in the Philippines was 47000 pesos per hectare, with a year-on-year increase of 1.7%, including 10200 pesos of labor cost and 3900 pesos of fertilizer. The yield per hectare is 4.09 tons and the income per hectare is 68500 pesos.
