International institutions will help Cambodia develop agricultural products processing industry

China news network, Phnom Penh, March 4 (reporter Ouyang Kaiyu) – the FAO will provide assistance to Cambodia to accelerate the development of agricultural products processing industry.

Cambodian Minister of agriculture, forestry and Fisheries ong SAKUN said in a recent meeting with the new representative of FAO in Cambodia, Rebecca bell, that FAO is one of Cambodia’s most important development partners and has made important contributions to promoting people’s living standards, increasing income and promoting agricultural production and competitiveness, the Ministry of agriculture, forestry and Fisheries said on the 4th.

Weng SAKUN said that the FAO assistance project provides farmers with modern agricultural technology training to promote agricultural productivity and improve the quality and safety of agricultural products.

Bell said that the agricultural assistance project carried out by FAO in Cambodia has achieved remarkable results. FAO will continue to provide support to help Cambodia accelerate the development of agricultural products processing industry.

The two sides agreed to cooperate in the construction of relevant infrastructure and promote the development of agricultural products processing industry by supporting the private sector, small and medium-sized enterprises and agricultural products market. At the same time, the two sides will continue to promote the cold chain system of agricultural products and aquaculture, especially the development of climate resilient agriculture, so as to ensure quality and safety, meet the needs of export markets, and promote the growth of household economy and national economy.
