Kazakhstan expects to harvest more than 13 million tons of wheat this year

KAZAKHSTAN/NURSUL/26 July – The wheat harvest in Kazakhstan in 2022 is expected to reach 13-13.5 million tons, 15-20% higher than in 2021.

The production of wheat this year is expected to reach about 13-13.5 million tons, which is 15-20% higher than in the previous year, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Agriculture Yerbol Karashukov said at a press conference on 26 July.

According to the Minister of Agriculture, Kazakhstan harvests an average of 12-12.5 million tons of wheat per year, of which 6 million tons are used to meet the needs of the domestic market.
And the remainder is exported in the form of wheat or flour. It is worth mentioning that last year Kazakhstan harvested 11.8 million tons of wheat.
