Kazakhstan to increase agricultural exports to China

Kazakhstan News Agency/Nursun/September 15 – Kazakhstan will increase its agricultural exports to China. According to the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, under the agreement between the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Commerce of China, the Chinese government recently delivered to the quality testing laboratory in the East Kazakhstan region equipment with a total value equivalent to 11.15 million yuan. The relevant agreement was signed by Kazakh Minister of Agriculture Yerbol Karashukov and Chinese Ambassador to Kazakhstan Zhang Xiao within the framework of the state visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Kazakhstan.

The Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan said that by establishing a testing laboratory for agricultural products of Chinese standards, it will help to expand exports of Kazakhstan’s agricultural products to China. In addition, Kazakhstan’s exports of further processed products, forage and feed, meat and meat products, milk and dairy products will increase significantly.

According to statistics, from January to July 2022, the volume of agricultural products traded between Kazakhstan and China increased by 46.7% year-on-year and amounted to $412.5 million. Among them, the volume of Kazakhstan’s agricultural exports increased by 62.2% to $280.4 million, while the volume of imports from China grew by 22.2% and amounted to $132.1 million.
