Nepal’s rice production has decreased by about 500000 tons this year

The Republic reported on January 1 that Nepal’s rice production fell by about 500000 tons this year. According to the Ministry of agriculture and animal husbandry development (moald), this year’s rice production is 491085 tons lower than last year’s 5.621 million tons. Natural disasters caused by non seasonal heavy rainfall are the main reason for the reduction of rice production in Lumbini province and other southern regions.
