New Cordova herbicide launched in Brazil

World AgroSciences reports: A new weed control staple, the 2,4-D choline salt-based herbicide Enlist® Colex-D®, was recently introduced by Cordiva AgroSciences.

The pesticide was launched by Cordiva at the 32nd Brazilian Weed Science Congress in Rio Verde, Goiás this week, according to an AgroPages exclusive.Enlist® Colex-D® herbicide is part of the Cordiva Enlist® system, which combines ″excellent genetic traits and cutting-edge technology″ to control both weeds and caterpillars.

According to the manufacturer, the new 2,4-D choline salt offers producers″ more utility and flexibility in using the product from the drying of soybeans to post-emergence. In addition, the substance offers additional advantages such as nearly 90% less drift when used in soybean crops, lighter odor and ultra-low volatility″.

Another highlight product introduced by Cordiva at the conference was Paxeo®, which was developed over 10 years ago, using the company’s exclusive Arylex™ active ingredient technology, and is a new member of the desiccant herbicide family that uses this technology.

The product is suitable for the control of resistant and tolerant weeds, such as lesser fleabane and two-ear grass, in soybeans,” noted Cordova. The product offers unique advantages such as excellent control even under drought conditions, preplant residual effect in soybeans, no cross-resistance and antagonism with grass herbicides, and can be used for preemergence and postemergence control. ″
