Obstacles and Countermeasures of agricultural trade between Vietnam and China

Li Guoguo, Vice Minister of agriculture and rural development of Vietnam, and Nguyen Myung woo, Vice Minister of foreign affairs of Vietnam, recently held a working meeting on the current situation, problems and Countermeasures of agricultural cooperation between Vietnam and China. The contents of this meeting will make preparations for the 13th meeting of the Vietnam China bilateral cooperation Steering Committee.

Li Guoguo, Vice Minister of agriculture and rural development of Vietnam, said that with the advantages of tropical agricultural products, the demand potential for Vietnamese products in the Chinese market is huge.

Vice Minister Li added that with the continuous improvement of the quality of Vietnamese agricultural products, Vietnam still has many advantages in exporting to the market.

Vice Minister Li said that at present, the biggest obstacle facing Vietnam’s export of agricultural products to China is the frequent changes in its border trade policy. Therefore, he hoped that the two departments would closely coordinate and solve this problem in future working meetings with China.

Vice Foreign Minister Ruan Mingwu stressed that under the current economic background, agriculture is still an important pillar of the economy, which not only meets the demand of domestic consumption, but also serves the export target.

Among them, China is a potential market and there is still much room for development. Although many efforts have been made to overcome obstacles, there are still some problems. Therefore, the Ministry of foreign affairs will cooperate with the Ministry of agriculture and rural development to eliminate relevant difficulties and promote development in this field.

Vice Minister Li Mingyu stressed that he would instruct the two departments to strengthen communication and exchanges, make further efforts to eliminate obstacles and improve work efficiency.

In addition, the trade of agricultural products requires the participation of multiple ministries and industries. The Ministry of foreign affairs will study and formulate the overall plan for economic cooperation with China.

Vice Foreign Minister Nguyen Myung woo stressed that the Ministry of foreign affairs will communicate with China, strive to solve the problems caused by the change of border trade policy, and establish an open mechanism for Vietnamese agricultural products.

Vice Foreign Minister Nguyen Myung woo said that the Ministry of foreign affairs will coordinate with the Ministry of agriculture and rural development of Vietnam to expand the market of advantageous agricultural products in China as soon as possible.
