Russian Ministry of agriculture continues to raise tariffs on wheat, corn and barley

The latest grain export tariff released by the Russian Ministry of agriculture shows that the wheat export tariff has been raised, which is the fourth consecutive week. The tariff of wheat after the adjustment is much higher than the tariff of USD 94 / ton in the last full week of 2021.

From June 22 to 29, 2022, the benchmark price of Russian wheat and mixed wheat is US $399.4 per ton, and the export tariff is US $142.0 per ton. In contrast, the benchmark price from the 15th to the 22nd is US $386.4, and the export tariff is US $131.6 per ton.

The benchmark price of barley is set at 352.5 US dollars per ton, and the export tariff is 117.5 US dollars per ton; The benchmark price of the previous week was USD 317.6, and the export tariff was USD 92.8 / ton. The benchmark price of corn is 308.6 US dollars per ton, and the export tariff is 86.5 US dollars per ton; The benchmark price in the previous week was US $305.5 and the export tariff was US $84.0 per ton.

The Russian Ministry of agriculture will implement the formula tax calculation from June 2, 2021, subtracting USD 200 from the benchmark price of wheat, and then multiplying it by 70%. The wheat benchmark price in the formula is not the export contract price, but the benchmark price calculated by the Moscow exchange. The tax calculation formula for barley and corn exports is to use the benchmark price minus 185 US dollars, and then multiply it by 70%.
