Russian Ministry of Agriculture will not extend sunflower seed export ban at the end of August

Russia’s Ministry of Agriculture said last Thursday (Aug. 18) that it will not extend the ban on sunflower seed exports at the end of August.

Russia banned the export of sunflower seeds between April 1 and August 31 to protect the supply of domestic sunflower oil producers.

Russia’s Ministry of Agriculture said it will maintain a 50 percent export tax on sunflower seeds until the end of August 2023.
