The conflict between Russia and Ukraine has led to a 60% rise in wheat prices in Africa

Cape Verde state news agency reported on April 26 that adesina, President of the African Development Bank, said on Tuesday that affected by the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, the price of wheat in Africa has risen by 60%, and corn and other cereals will also be affected. The conflict between Russia and Ukraine may cause a global food crisis, especially for Africa, because African food is mainly imported from Russia and Ukraine. Adesina also revealed that the African Development Bank has formulated an emergency food plan for Africa with a budget of US $1.5 billion to avoid a food crisis on the African continent and reduce the impact of the Russian Ukrainian conflict on Africa.
