The Russian buckwheat harvest in 2021 is a foregone conclusion

News from the news center of the Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation on November 18: the harvest of major cereal crops in Russia in 2021 is coming to an end. As of November 17, the harvest of buckwheat has reached 1037000 tons, an increase of 66000 tons over the same period last year. The harvest is a foregone conclusion.

According to the official website, this year, the planting area of buckwheat in Russia increased by 12.1% to 976000 hectares. The crop was planted in a large area in 49 regions of the Federation, including Altai border region, Bashkortostan Republic, Kursk, Voronezh and Orel Prefecture.

The Russian Ministry of Agriculture said: the Ministry has carried out systematic work in expanding the area of cultivated land, introducing advanced technology, increasing the application of chemical fertilizer and using high-yield seeds. Therefore, cereal crops have increased production and laid a good raw material foundation for processing industry. At present, Russian buckwheat production can fully meet the demand of the domestic market.
