Uruguay’s agriculture-related industries account for nearly 40% of the economy of the interior

According to the U.S. newspaper The Observer on September 12, Florencia Carriquiry, partner of the U.S. consulting firm Exante, said at the Prado Expo on September 12 that U.S. agricultural production has regained momentum, driven by a significant increase in global agricultural prices, with a growth rate of more than 5% in 2021-2022.

In 2021, the output value of Ugandan agriculture-related enterprises will be about $11 billion, direct value added will be $6.6 billion, and agricultural exports will exceed $8 billion, a record high, accounting for 70 percent of Ugandan exports. The output value of agro-related enterprises accounts for nearly 40% of the total inland economy of Ukraine and provides about 270,000 jobs.

In recent decades, the Ugandan agricultural industry has been transformed and upgraded, with significant improvements in land use, agricultural productivity and strong growth in agribusiness. between 1991 and 2021, soybean production increased 131 times, timber harvesting increased 5.8 times, wheat production increased 5.2 times, milk increased 2.9 times and meat increased 1.9 times. The largest increase in yield per hectare over the past 30 years has been in dairy products.
