Foreign media reported on July 22 that, according to the Bangladesh Ministry of Agriculture, this year’s summer rice output in Bangladesh hit a record high of 20.9 million tons due to good weather conditions.
The price of domestic rice in Bangladesh has risen by nearly 10% from the previous month. Despite Bangladesh’s large imports of rice, summer rice production still hit a record high. Summer rice production accounted for half of the total annual output of 35 million tons.
