Egypt plans to plant 250,000 feddans (1 feddan equals 1.038 acres) of sunflower seeds next year, up from 90,000 feddans this year, the government said in a statement.
Next year, Egypt’s corn planting area will increase five times year-on-year to 500,000 feddans, aimed at increasing domestic feed production.
Soybean acreage will also be higher than the 150,000 feddans planted this year, but the government did not give a specific forecast.
