Exports to China are expected to increase by 270000 tons of Peruvian blueberries from 2022 to 2023

According to the statistics of proar á ndanos, in the just concluded 2021-2022 export season, the global sales of Peruvian blueberries increased by 37% year-on-year.

According to the website “simfruit. CL” of the Chilean fruit Exporters Association, Peru sold 220000 tons of blueberries overseas in the export season from 2021 to 2022 (July 2021 to April 2022), a year-on-year increase of 37%. The agency predicts that in the export season of 2022-2023, the export volume of blueberries from Peru is about 277000 tons, with a year-on-year increase of 25%, mainly due to the increase in exports to China (an increase of 3%), the UK (+ 1%) and the EU (+ 1%).

This year, Peru’s National Bureau of Agricultural Health (senasa) reported that the negotiations between Peru and Israel on Blueberry trade have come to an end, and Israel is expected to become the 32nd export market of Peru’s blueberries.
