From January to September this year, Ukraine’s agricultural exports increased by nearly 17%

Ukrainian news agency quoted the National Bureau of statistics on November 11. From January to September this year, the total export of Ukrainian agricultural products reached US $18.2 billion, a year-on-year increase of nearly 17% or US $2.6 billion.

The main agricultural products exported by Ukraine include grain and oil crops, vegetable oil and residues, and meat products. The above-mentioned commodities account for more than 85% of the total export of agricultural products. The main sales markets include Asian countries, EU countries, African countries and CIS countries, and the exports of these regions account for more than 97%. In 2021, Ukraine’s agricultural exports to all the above regions showed growth.

The largest export destination of Ukrainian agricultural products is still Asian countries. In the first nine months, the export volume reached US $9.016 billion, accounting for nearly 50%. Nearly one third of agricultural products are exported to EU countries, with a total export volume of US $5.417 billion. Total exports to African countries reached US $2327 million. The total export of agricultural products to the United States accounted for 13%. Total exports to CIS countries amounted to 959 million US dollars, accounting for 5%.

In terms of countries, China is the largest export destination of Ukrainian agricultural products, with a total export volume of US $2.915 billion, a year-on-year increase of 36%. The second is India, with a total export of US $1.35 billion. The third is the Netherlands, with a total export of 1.203 billion US dollars. Other major export destinations include Egypt ($969 million), Turkey ($747 million), Poland ($743 million), Spain ($649 million), Indonesia ($634 million), Germany ($509 million) and Italy ($452 million). Exports to the above-mentioned 10 countries account for more than 55% of the total export of agricultural products.
