Dushanbe, Tajikistan’s Asian Express News Agency, reported on April 20 that according to the Ministry of agriculture of Tajikistan, the grain planting area of Tajikistan will reach 611800 hectares in 2022, including 367000 hectares of grain and vegetables and 180000 hectares of fruit trees.
In 2021, the agricultural output value of Tajikistan was 36.4 billion somoni (about US $3.221 billion), and the grain output was 1.577 million tons, including 864000 tons of wheat. Tajikistan predicts that in 2022, the agricultural output value will reach 39.5 billion somoni (about US $3.16 billion), and the grain output will reach 1.594 million tons, including 917000 tons of wheat. This year, Tajikistan’s demand for wheat exceeds 2 million tons and plans to import 1.2 million tons of wheat.
In addition, the yield of wheat per irrigated land is 4000-1000 kg per hectare.
