The European Union completely banned the use of disposable plastic products

The European Commission said EU countries should completely ban the use of disposable plastic products from July 3. As part of EU legislation in 2019, all EU countries should remove certain disposable plastic products from the market by 3 July 2021. More than 80% of the waste in the ocean is plastic. Disposable plastics have a short life and are then discarded, so they are more likely to end up in the sea than reusable products. The European Commission has previously pointed out that the accumulation of plastic products in the ocean and beaches poses a huge threat to marine fauna and human health.
