According to the data released by the organic agricultural products production enterprise alliance of Kazakhstan, 2021 was a year of great success for Kazakhstan’s organic agricultural products export enterprises. The export region and export volume were expanded, and the export amount in 2021 tripled over the same period of last year.
The alliance said on its Facebook page that in 2021, Kazakhstan’s total exports of organic agricultural products to foreign countries were US $2010.1 million and 13.376 million euros respectively. In 2020, the export volume was USD 1.457 million and EUR 9.225 million respectively, and in 2019, it was USD 11.757 million and EUR 3.721 million respectively.
Among them, the export volume of organic wheat was the largest, 29219 tons, with the export volume of 9.992 million US dollars and 2.705 million euros respectively, an increase of five times that of the same period last year.
12070 tons of Organic Flaxseed were exported, with an export volume of 10.586 million euros. According to the source, the actual delivery volume of flax is lower than that a year ago, but the sales price is higher. In 2020, Kazakhstan exported 14727 tons, with an export volume of 8.618 million euros. In 2019, it exported 7040 tons, with an export volume of 3.721 million euros.
In the whole year, 9610 tons of soybeans were exported, with a value of 9.547 million US dollars. In contrast, in 2020, the export volume of soybeans was 321.4 tons, with an export value of 173500 US dollars, and in 2019, it was 3200 tons, with an export value of 2.08 million US dollars, all of which were exported to Sweden.
In addition, in 2021, Kazakhstan exported 921.5 tons of sunflower seeds, with an export volume of US $562100, all of which were exported to China. In 2020, 567.2 tons of sunflower seeds with a total amount of 227500 euros were exported to the Czech Republic. 328 tons of millet were also exported, with an export amount of 85300 euros. Sunflower oil, vodka, honey and plants are exported less.
The organic production enterprise alliance of Kazakhstan pointed out that the export region of organic agricultural products of Kazakhstan has expanded – it exports to Ukraine and China for the first time, but at present, the main export markets are still Germany, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Belgium, the Czech Republic and Lithuania.
