Ukraine continues to expand nitrogen fertilizer exports

Ukraine’s grand trade network quoted the General Administration of Customs on December 14. In November 2021, Ukraine’s nitrogen fertilizer exports reached 105000 tons, with a total amount of US $62 million. It mainly exports urea and ammonium nitrate to Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Italy, Argentina and other countries.

Meanwhile, Ukraine imported 275000 tons of nitrogen fertilizer in November, with a total value of 136 million US dollars. The main source countries are Belarus, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Poland, Bulgaria, Georgia, Lithuania, Latvia and Turkmenistan.

Experts from the Ukrainian agricultural business club said that the high cost but shortage of chemical fertilizer in the Ukrainian domestic market is mainly due to the expensive production raw materials and the obstruction of domestic sales.
