In 2021, Vietnam’s agricultural exports to the EU will continue to grow well. Since evfta came into effect on August 1, 2020, Vietnam’s agricultural exports to the EU have achieved remarkable results. At present, the EU is Vietnam’s third largest export market of agricultural products, accounting for 10.1% of total exports, second only to Asia and the Americas.
The price of agricultural products exported to EU is far higher than the average market price, and the selling price and sales volume remain unchanged. However, it is easy to say but not easy to do to increase the export of agricultural products to this market. The EU’s requirements are very harsh and its supervision activities are more frequent than other markets.
Du Shenghai, Vice Minister of the Ministry of industry and trade, said that in order to strengthen the export of agricultural products, they have taken the lead and will cooperate with relevant departments and associations to implement and guide enterprises to effectively implement the evtfa agreement, aiming to maximize the opportunities it brings.
